What happens if a game is full?
When a game has no spots left, the join button becomes Join waitlist. It costs nothing and charges nothing.
What the waitlist actually does
It tells you the moment somebody drops out. That's it — and that's the part worth understanding:
Turn on notifications
This is the difference between the waitlist working and not working for you. Players drop out at all hours, often the evening before, and an email you read the next morning is an email about a spot someone else already took.
Push notifications in the mobile app are the fastest channel by some distance.
You are not charged anything
Joining a waitlist is free and involves no payment details. If a spot opens and you take it, you pay then, exactly as you would for any game.
Leaving the waitlist
Open the game and tap the waitlist button again. Nothing to refund, nothing to cancel.
Why games are rarely as full as they look
Spots free up constantly — plans change, people get called into work. A game that is full a week out is often not full the day before, so joining the waitlist for something you actually want to play is usually worth it.
