Paying for a tournament: per player or per team

Two ways a division is priced

The organizer chooses for each division. The division card tells you which:

  • "€12 per player": every place on a team costs that much.
  • "€60 per team": the team pays one fixed team fee, however many players it has.
  • "Free entry": nothing to pay.

The open team always pays per player, in both kinds of division. See the open team.

Priced per player

Every place costs the division's fee. You pay for your own place, and the captain can also pay for any teammate who has accepted their invitation.

The team leaves hold once its paid players reach the format's minimum. Substitutes above the minimum can pay at any time before registration closes, without holding the team back.

Priced per team

The team owes one fixed team fee, whatever the size of the squad. Any member who has accepted can chip in any amount, up to what the team still owes. The team page shows the progress as "Collected €36 of €60", with a bar.

  • Pay your share is the amount offered by default: what is left, divided by the members who have not paid anything yet, rounded up to the cent. You can change the amount before you pay. If you have already paid something, the button reads Chip in more instead.
  • Pay the rest is the captain's extra button, for the whole remainder.
  • In the registration wizard, the Payment step offers Pay €60 and register, Pay part and Pay later.

For example: the team fee is €60 and €36 has been collected, so €24 is left. Two of the five members have not paid yet, so the share offered to each of them is €12.

Members see the total collected and their own contribution. The captain also sees Who has paid: one row per payer, with what they paid in total. A payer who is no longer in the squad is marked "Left the team", and one who deleted their CSFC account shows as "Deleted account".

When the team leaves hold

A team priced per team stays In hold until both are true: the whole fee is collected, and the team has at least the format's minimum of accepted players. The team page says what is missing: "Waiting for €24 and 2 more players", "Waiting for €24", or "Waiting for 2 more players".

So one person paying the whole fee does not register a team of one.

Balance, card, or both

You pay the same three ways as for a game: from your CSFC balance, by card, or split between the two. See split payment and the card minimum.

  • From your balance, you can pay any amount from one cent.
  • By card, or split, the card part must be at least €0.50. Below that the card option is disabled, and the amount can only come from your balance.
  • A declined card charges nothing and changes nothing. Your team is still there.

If someone paid at the same moment

A contribution never goes over what the team still owes when it arrives. If a teammate covered part of the fee while your card payment was going through, the extra comes straight back to your balance: "Part of it was no longer owed · €X is back on your balance". If the whole fee had already been covered, all of it comes back: "The team fee was already covered · €X is back on your balance".

The price does not change once teams are in

Once anyone has paid in a division, or a team has entered it, the organizer can no longer change its price or switch how it is priced.
